Album Notes

If there ever was a music genre that wraps love and romance all up in a glorious lexicon of moonlight, stars, spring and summer nights, and sweet angels come to earth, it's doo wop. This two-disc, 33-track set collects some classics of the genre, including the Crests' "Sixteen Candles," the Diamonds' "Little Darlin'," the Rays' "Silhouettes," and the Marcels' "Blue Moon," as well as a couple of tracks like Fats Domino's "I'm Walkin'" that really fit the era more than they do the style. Everything here is a classic, though, and it makes the perfect soundtrack for a romantic walk under the summer stars with an angel. ~ Steve Leggett
