Eirik Gjerdevik met Pleven Philharmonic Orchestra as guest soloist in 2010. The chemistry between soloist and orchestra was electric from the start, and plans were soon underway for a recording with the orchestra and conductor Bjørn Breistein. Besides the magnificent tuba concertos of Vaughan Williams and Aagaard-Nilsen, the CD features the latter's exquisite composition "Music for Blue Days" for tuba and harp. The great Swedish composer Erland von Koch's Tuba Concerto also receives its recording premiere on this album.
