1950's and 1960's Golden Memories isn't a particularly inventive collection, but that's a good thing -- it delivers original recordings of some of early rock's biggest hits by some of the era's most beloved artists. Undeniable classics like Elvis Presley's "Are You Lonesome Tonight," Roy Orbison's "Only the Lonely," and the Everly Brothers' "All I Have to Do Is Dream" still sound as good as they did in the late '50s and early '60s, as do songs by the Platters and the Marvelettes. While a couple of inferior cover versions keep this set from perfection, it still has plenty of entertainment and nostalgic value.
