The Artis-Quartet Vienna was founded in 1980 at the Vienna University of Music and Performing Arts. The quartet soon embarked on an international career that has taken it all over the world and made it one of the most sought-after quartets of its generation.

The Artis is a Vienna quartet with a fair number of recordings to its credit. These are good performances. The performance of the great G minor Rider is fine. As usual, Camerata's sound is first-rate and the annotations are very good.
