Notes & Reviews:

The New York Times hailed Maria Bachmann as "a violinist of soul and patrician refinement," and The Boston Globe as "astonishing in every musical and technical regard." Maria Bachmann studied at The Curtis Institute of Music with Ivan Galamian and Szymon Goldberg, and was awarded Curtis's Fritz Kreisler Prize. Mr. Neiman has performed as soloist with the symphony orchestras of Belgrade, Chicago, Cincinnati, Dallas, Detroit, Houston, Indianapolis, Minnesota, Saint Louis, San Francisco, and is a highly-acclaimed recitalist. This recording presents the duo performing a collection of French masterpieces by Debussy, Franck and Saint-Saëns.

American Record Guide, May/June 2013
Maria Bachmann's performances are on a different order altogether. First of all, the recorded sound is quite good. Second, Bachmann has obviously thought long and hard about all of these works. Hers is one of the most satisfying Franck sonatas I have heard. The intense concentration that the work demands is there from the very start, and it doesn't flag. I just wish that her partner, Adam Neiman, had the same level of involvement. This is one of the most satisfying recitals that I have heard in a long time, and the best playing that I have heard from Bachmann. These intelligent interpretations are what I would expect of a student of Szymon Goldberg. Bachmann plays a violin built in 1782 by Nicolo Gagliano.
