Baritone Bo Skovhus was born in Denmark and studied at the Academy of Music in Aarhus, the Royal Academy for Opera of Copenhagen, and in New York. In 1988 he launched his career at the Volksoper in Vienna, and this city is still the focus of his work. For more than 10 years he has been a regular guest performer at the State Opera. Time and again he has been engaged by the Musikverein as well as the Konzerthaus to perform at recitals and concerts. In 1997 he was awarded the Austrian honorary title Kammersanger. He is one of the most influential interpreters of his generation, and is regularly invited to major festivals around the globe.
