Notes & Reviews:

Considering Schubert's particular emotional stage in the early 1820s, it's no wonder he was deeply moved by Wilhelm Muller's story of a miller who finds his eternal relief in the waters of the stream that bore witness to his sorrow.

American Record Guide, September/October 2013
A quick online search of Die Schone Mullerin will lead to dozens of recordings. There are collectors who are so passionate about this Schubert masterwork they have made a life's work of collecting as many of these recordings as possible. Some singers have recorded it twice: once as a young singer and again as a more seasoned, older singer. This and simply having had more life experience can result in stunningly different performances and interpretations. Of course there were likely many concert performances of the piece in between the recordings. This is good and solid. Karol Kozlowski has a gift for singing with a beautiful, gentle line through lilting phrases. Jolanta Pawlik's collaboration lays a solid foundation. She plays with the understanding that she holds the key to the characters in Muller's poems and Schubert's imagining of them. 'Morgengruss' is simply lovely. It is some of the Kozlowski's easiest singing. The payoff of to whoever sings, plays, and listens to the cycle in its entirety are the final perfectly and sublimely written songs. This young tenor sings them beautifully and with heartfelt emotion. Perhaps the greatest strength of this reading are those moments.
