Notes & Reviews:
Among the historical conductors of Richard Strauss, after Strauss himself and Clemens Krauss, Karl Bohem had a fundamental role: he was Strauss. intimate friend and a faithful conductor of his works. Bohem.s approach to Strauss. universe was completely different to our contemporaneous: first of all any rhetoric, but an extremely essential approach, an hymn to elegance and clarity. These 2 CD contain the four great symphonic poems of Strauss. creativity, recorded between 1957 and 1958, with the most Straussian Orchestra of the world: the Dresden Staatskapelle. They are certainly not unpublished, because they belong to the Deutsche Grammophon catalogue; however they are frequently hard to find by the German label, and we are sure that collectors will appreciate our medium-price edition.
