Notes & Reviews:

Danner was a grand prizewinner in the Delius Society composition contest and 1st prize in the Taghkanic Chorale composer's competition. The International Trombone Association Journal raves ""Slide Ride" is a witty tour de force for the soloist and winds. A real crowd pleaser that is enjoyable by the listeners and musicians alike".

American Record Guide, September/October 2013
Finally, Volume 11 (2011) has Holsinger conducting his Lee University Wind Ensemble. The program opens with 'Fanfare Mid-America', a full-band version of the piece that opened Vol 9. City Symphony is a three-movement, cliche-filled paean to an evening, night, and morning of any large metropolis. The big piece is the two-movement, 27-minute Reagan of Illinois, celebrating the 100th anniversary of the birth of the former president, whose early years were spent in Dixon, Illinois. The composer conducts the Dixon Municipal Reagan Band in this concert performance. In I, narrator Paul Katner reads excerpts from Reagan's autobiography; in II, combined choirs from several Illinois cities sing words from Reagan speeches. I'm sure it was great if you were there.
