Notes & Reviews:

American Record Guide, September/October 2013
The 39th volume of CDCM's Computer Music Series opens with Larry Austin's tenacious Redux. The solo violin is recorded, processed, and amplified. David Bithell's Hithering replaces the violin with a trumpet and concentrates on digital manipulations creating sonic atmospheres filled with sputtering and low bass tones. Thomas Clark's Fourth Angel, with its synthesizer sounds and cheesy chord progression, is the most dated piece on the program. Gerry Rigged, by Jon Christopher Nelson, includes F Gerard Errante on clarinet playing with a full, robust sound and a fabulous tone. Nelson's concert electronics create interesting transformations and short lived canons.
