Notes & Reviews:

The CD "Hasse reloaded" was enthusiastically received by the critics and was included on the German Record Critics' Best List. Oehms Classics is delighted that Valer Barna- Sabadus has proven his ability again one year later. In September 2012, he recorded English songs of Purcell, Matteis and Dowland in the Himmelfahrtskirche in Munich.

American Record Guide, July/August 2013
With its title taken from a line in Dowland's 'Come Again: Sweet Love Doth Now Invite', this appealing and well-performed program includes six songs of Henry Purcell, six of Nicola Matteis, four of John Dowland, and three instrumental works. The Purcell and Dowland works are well known. A contemporary of Purcell, Matteis was born in Naples and moved to England around 1670 where he established himself as a violin virtuoso and played a major role in spreading the principles of Italian composition through England. More time between tracks would have added value to the program, especially between the urgency of Matteis's swift 'No, My Chloe, Let Us Leave this Place' and Dowland's deeply pensive pavan. Overall this is a fine recording with great sound and highly accomplished performances in satisfying period style. Notes, texts, translations.
