Notes & Reviews:

La Gamme heralds the long-awaited return of Sonnerie to the trio format. The all-French program of music by Marais and Forqueray recalls the Songs of the Auvergne and the beautiful French countryside. Huggett, Bejamin, and Johnstone deliver expert phrasing and highly nuanced performances, allowing virtuosity and clarity to remain in impeccable balance.

American Record Guide, July/August 2013
As in the performance of most French baroque music, the elegance and subtlety of the musicians is of great importance. Certainly Monica Huggett remains in top form and is easily matched by gambist Emilia Benjamin in creating fluid phrases and graceful ornaments. This is a very good and stylish recording for these mature and experimental works by Marais.
