Notes & Reviews:

The disc combines several of Scarlatti's keyboard sonatas with Neapolitan songs by various composers of the era, exploring the influences of these songs on Scarlatti's sonatas. Scarlatti's style is notable for its improvisatory nature as well as its incorporation of elements of Spanish and Portuguese folk music.

American Record Guide, July/August 2013
The program opens with four high-octane pieces that grab listeners. Both playing and singing are virtuosic and assured. Letizia Calandra and Francesco Cera have complete command of the idiom, and this excellent and enjoyable program is invigorating to hear.
