Notes & Reviews:
The latest title to join Virgin de Virgin series is the sweeping recording of four Josef Suk compositions: Ripening, Praga, Epilogue, Fairy Tale, Suk was a Czech composer whose musical style was heavily influenced by Dvorak (his great-grandfather) and later the theme of morbidity. He wrote his funeral march- Ripening, a symphony about the value of life.
Because Josef Suk was a champion classical music; it seems fitting that Czech conductor Libor Pesek leads Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra in this recording. Pesek is currently the conductor laureate at the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra. He is best known for his interpretations of Czech music.
