Notes & Reviews:

Like a good story, the composers featured on "Spellbound" transport the listener across landscapes only limited by the imagination. These new works for orchestra behave as narrative arches, allowing tension and emotion to build and release to a euphoric conclusion or a haunting realization.

American Record Guide, November/December 2013
It's sometimes refreshing to let the robust, full sounds of full orchestras and large ensembles wash over me. Navona's Spellbound program is genuinely enjoyable in this respect. Torque, by Ronald Keith Parks, is a brass-heavy. Sparkle, they both use clearly defined sections with different instruments and a rhythmic pedal as a main controlling element. Michael Murray's Tempest Fantasy is the string-driven, emotional piece here. Its harmonic language aims toward tonality.
