Notes & Reviews:

Hannes Minnaar's debut album in 2011, featuring Rachmaninov's rarely performed first piano sonata and Ravel's Miroirs, was awarded the Edison Award in 2012. The Dutch pianist has received international acclaim after winning prizes at the Queen Elisabeth Competition (third prize, 2010) and the Geneva International Music Competition (second prize, 2008). He studied with Jan Wijn at the Amsterdam Conservatory, graduating with the highest distinction in 2009, and took lessons with Alfred Brendel, Willem Brons, Menahem Pressle,r and Ferenc Rados. In addition, he studied organ with Jacques van Oortmerssen.

The Observer
The sensational young pianist...displays his extravagant gifts in this debut disc...His musical intelligence, sense of line and structure, delicacy, subtlety of texture, and discipline set him apart.
