American Record Guide, July/August 2014
Michael Gordon, fortunately, has crafted an exceptional foray into the intricacies of the instrument. This is a river of sound flowing through marshes and reeds. It bends, rises, and falls, but never stops for more than a moment before another wave pushes forward. Bassoonists and post-minimalism fans should find no problem enjoying the piece.
