Notes & Reviews:
Praised for his "precise, physical and daring" choreography and "the gleaming beauty of his productions," Angelin Preljocaj (b. 1957) stands out as one of the most original personalities in French contemporary dance. The inspiration for his 1994 ballet 'Le Parc' is found in the French art and literature of the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, notably the paintings of Watteau, the diabolical schemes of "Dangerous Liaisons" and the amorous intrigues of Marivaux. Guided by the music of Mozart, the choreographer constructs his play of passions of the heart, set in a French garden and featuring two of the brightest stars of Paris Opera Ballet: Isabelle Guerin and Laurent Hilaire.Notes & Reviews:
