Remarks:
Born in Milan in 1957, Luca Mosca studied at the Conservatory there, receiving degrees in piano with studies under Eli Perrotta and Antonio Ballista, in harpsichord under Marina Mauriello, and in composition with Franco Donatoni and Salvatore Sciarrino. He has an extensive career both as composer and keyboardist, and important ensembles in Italy and throughout Europe have performed his major works. These include the operas 'Titania's Dream', 'Peter Schlemihl', 'America, and 'K'. This opera was commissioned by Teatro La Fenice to celebrate the 300th anniversary of the homegrown playwright Carlo Goldoni. This is one of the very few contemporary operas that are being staged in Italy, and this is a good sign for a renewal of the operatic world.Notes:
