Notes & Reviews:
This special studio recording of 'The Merry Widow' is set to the music of the popular operetta by Franz Lehar, whose intricate tale of love affairs and diplomatic intrigue in turn-of-the-century Paris has been transformed into a sumptuous ballet. Australian dancer John Meehan excels as Count Danilo, ordered to marry the recently widowed Hanna Glawari for her fortune, danced superbly by Canadian prima ballerina Karen Kain.
