One reviewer of Susan Graham's Verbier Festival recital praised her 'radiant voice' and marveled at her ability to convey the subtle nuances of what seems like 'her second native language'. Her programme offers a 'tasting menu' of the French melodie tradition - a varied selection of songs ranging from the youthful charm of Bizet's Chanson d'avril to the high drama of Poulenc's La dame de Monte Carlo, and from the barbed irony of Ravel's 'Le paon' to the sensuous beauty of Faure's Vocalise-Etude.

The recital is simply but effectively filmed, with no tricks. One particularly effective camera angle shows us Miss Graham from the side, whilst at the same time revealing her accompanist's face.
