Matthias Bamert and the London Mozart players have been bringing out the best of composers from Mozart's time in their "Contemporaries of Mozart" series. These late symphonies from Bohemian composer Vaclav Pichl are fine examples of the early Classical symphony. The music is imaginative and superbly crafted; and the performances sound ideal!
