In a two-handed review on MusicWeb by Peter Grahame Woolf and Harry Downey this recording scored four and three stars respectively - review here.

I've nothing but praise for the whole enterprise, apart from the lack of texts and the unnecessary hyphenation of the name Alamire (alias Petrus Imhoff, the collector of the music in the eponymous manuscript) in the title of one of the CDs. Start, perhaps, with one of the Naxos albums - they're less expensive - but lovers of the music of this period should go for the lot.

Gramophone - Fabrice Fitch
Another winner in Naxos' early music catalogue gathers a collection of works celebrating one of the 16th century's great musical craftsmen. As to a final recommendation, it would be silly to pretend that cost is irrelevant: this is excellent value for money.

Le Monde de la Musique - Marc Desmet
The Belgian ensemble Capilla Flamenca evokes this vast repertory by drawing from the works often copied (the Dutch song Myn hert, in several versions) or unpublished anonymities like the splendid Salve Regina from the song Myn Het r (No 6). The interpretation is very tempting, the male choir producing coloured and homogeneous timbres. The ensemble Caccia supplements the program, participating in the profane part, with varied though more conventional sonorities.
