Notes & Reviews:

Originally called "The Maid of Pskov", this enjoyable Russian opera is better known in the West as Ivan the Terrible, first performed under that title in Paris. The late, lamented Thomas Schippers, who left just a few precious recordings, conducts this magnificent 1969 performance starring the great Boris Christoff.
