All the works represented here on this CD have never been recorded commercially by Monteux, a premiere for BBC Legends. The Schumann is particularly rare having been found and brought into the BBC archive from an independent collector. These recordings were made in November 1962, Manchester (Rossini and Brahms) and October 1961, Royal Festival Hall (Schumann).
