Notes & Reviews:

"Le Corsaire" was used by Beecham to demonstrate the power of the RPO brass section which Beecham was inordinately proud of. This performance comes from Beecham's first UK appearance immediately following his 1950 tour of the US. The King Lear Overture represents a premier on record for Beecham and will therefore be "a must" for collectors.
