Notes & Reviews:

These recordings of America's leading mezzo-soprano from the late 1960s and early 1970s show her in the prime of her early career performing some of the great bel canto operas. Horne's plangent tone and stupendous technique have never stopped amazing audiences and these epochal recordings are always very much in demand. Both Nicolai Gedda and Piero De Palma are featured in duets with Ms. Horne.
