Italian Oboe Concertos - Platti, Salieri, Rosetti, Besozzi

Notes & Reviews:

All the concertos on this disc represent the eighteenth-century instrumental concerto at its most entertaining. Each work is characterized by tunefulness, elegant solo parts for oboe, and sprightly string accompaniments. This is music designed to engage and enchant, and is the aural equivalent of the rococo paintings of Fragonard, Boucher and the Tiepolo family.
