Telemann's output was vast, and his musical style developed with the times. His suite based on Cervantes' comic story of the adventures of Don Quixote illustrates the hero's follies in a series of lighthearted programmatic movements, and the suite 'La Lyra' is notable for an unusual imitation of the hurdy-gurdy.
