Notes & Reviews:
An exciting release for the dedicated opera fan and the New Music lover, this is one of the few recordings ever of this 20-century masterwork, and certainly the only one ever issued at budget price! The 1976 recording is clear and bright and features major singers such as Theo Adam and Eberhard Buchner in leading roles. Conductor Otmar Suitner is especially admired in putting across modern works. This is a memorable work, both amusing and sobering, satirical and serious.
