Decca's simply titled For Yoga presents 14 gentle, but not soporific, classical pieces ideal for a yoga session lasting just over an hour. The collection includes many well-known pieces that are lovely but not too languid, such as Satie's Gymnopédies Nos. 1 & 3, Massenet's Meditation from Thaïs, Debussy's Reverie, and Saint-Saëns' Aquarium from Carnival of the Animals. Bach, Vivaldi, Ravel, and Gluck are among the other composers represented on the album. Even though the For Yoga title makes the collection seem ultra-specific, the album's relaxing, sophisticated music lends itself to a number of possibilities. ~ Heather Phares
