Notes & Reviews:

Francesco Cavalli was one of the most outstanding composers of the early Italian Baroque, not far behind Monteverdi in general esteem. His Requiem Mass, of 'Missa pro Defunctis', is one of his most outstanding sacred choral works and here it receives a performance of impeccable historical accuracy.
