Notes & Reviews:

Philippe Jaroussky has become quite a sensation in France and is rapidly cultivating a strong reputation throughout Europe. Most of Vivaldi's cantatas are for solo voice and continuo alone - the favored combination at the time. This choice of secular cantatas for alto voice is representative of Vivaldi's virtuosic style of composition; as a program, the selected cantatas have a very lively, warm character.
