Notes & Reviews:

2005 marks the 400th anniversary of the birth of Carissimi, one of the early masters of the oratorio. 'The Story of Jephthah' is probably Carissimi's best known work. Both 'Jephthah' and 'Jonas' demonstrate Carissimi's complete understanding of the musical possibilities of the voice.
