Notes & Reviews:

It will soon be 300 years since Antonio Vivaldi wrote this collection of four concertos in 1712, known popularly as The Four Seasons as they bear vivid verbal descriptions of activities common to each of the parts of the year. The works are matched by the descriptive powers of the music, which is remarkably able to suggest cool breezes, icy blasts, barking dogs, and everything else that is common to each of the seasons then and now. A bonus is a modern interpretation of the seasons by Adriano Guarnieri.
