Album Reviews:

The Wire (p.55) - "Craft's strength is their combination of Death Metal's repetitive crunch with Black metal's primitive buzz 'n' howl, creating a speeding steamroller of sound reminiscent of the genre's forefathers, Venom."

Album Notes

Craft: Nox (vocals); John (guitar, bass guitar); Joakim (guitar); Daniel (drums).

Do you live your life in God's filth? This and other unhygienic questions are posed at blistering volume by the Swedish black metal band Craft on its third full-length release. Single-syllabled vocalist Nox seems in imminent danger of shredding his vocal cords throughout songs like the album's physics-defying title track and the short-but-sweet "At the Suffering of Others." But though Nox never quite produces the genre's hallowed cookie-monster vocal effect--which leaves him in mortal danger of accusations of inauthenticity from metal zealots--Craft's grinding riffs and monolithic arrangements amply convey the band's message of universal loathing and destruction. Rest assured--they hate us, every one.
