>Simonsen, Rudolph Hermann : Concerto for Piano in F minor
Performer Conductor Ensemble Composers

Notes & Reviews:

We are happy to present the fourth volume in the highly popular Danish Piano Concerto series. Victor Bendix was beholden to the past, as his warmly Romantic Symphonies reveal. With the arrival of the young Carl Nielsen, whose own music willingly explored modern trends, composers such as Bendix were swept aside, so it is doubly valuable to have this release of his Piano Concerto, which many have compared to Saint-Saens. Even more obscure is the work of composer Rudolph Simonsen. Like Bendixs, his music reflects the Romantic era in its sweeping melodies and virtuoso writing.
