Notes & Reviews:
Founded on a core of wind instruments - shawm, sackbut and recorder - plus organ and voice, the Early Music America Award-winning ensemble, Ciaramella, has been praised for performing medieval and early Renaissance music with the ease of jazz musicians improvising on a theme. This recording, entitled Sacred and Secular Music from Renaissance Germany, combines sacred music with reconstructions of folk-songs and arrangements based on contemporary improvisation.
