Notes & Reviews:
Ladies in rustling gowns and gentlemen in evening dress to be "musical morning entertainment" and appeared to listen to a varied program of music by Mendelssohn, Robert Schumann, Clara Wieck, Bernhard Heinrich Romberg and others.
But not only the selection of the pieces is very diverse on this Sunday, but also the choice of instruments, including traditional piano, strings, guitar, clarinet, vocals, flute and glass harmonica sound and small oddities like the csákány (a "walking stick flute") or the Orphica, a portable little piano that could be played the way and is ideal for vocal accompaniment suitable.
Many of these romantic original instruments are still in the collection of Leipzig's musical instrument museum. Heard they are now on the release of surround sound that provides an impression that very Sunday matinees, as they could have taken place at Mendelssohn's time. Sunday's Finest Entertainment!
