Max Emanuel Cencic was a member of the Vienna Boys' Choir from 1987 to 1992. Following his re-training as a counter tenor, he has performed various roles including Sposa in Sant'Alessio, Perseo in Andromeda Liberata, Herold in Medea at the Wiener Staatsoper and Ottone in L'Incoronazione di Poppea at Teatro Real.

The cantatas by Domenico Scarlatti are "cantate d'amore", lines and warm, graceful playing abound. From the fine booklet notes we learn that these were probably written for the famous castrato Farinelli, who was with Scarlatti at the Spanish court in the service of Emperor Charles VI. Conductor Karsten Eric Ose also plays recorder with superb command and colorful variety. In the Caldara program, other winds join in some places - chalumeau and transverse flute among them. A pair of violins encircle the voice in the exquisite middle aria of Sempre Mi Torna In Mente, and the jolly recorder interplay with bassoon in the opening aria 'Che Speravi' of Amante Recidivo is extremely well played.
