All the works on this unique album are rediscovered gems by Mexican composers - some famous, some obscure - but all enjoyable. Founded in 1996, the Alauda Ensemble is a group of young Mexican musicians dedicated to the rescue of forgotten or unpublished music, from the traditional repertoire to Latin American music. Most of the ensemble's members are pupils of Samuel Maynez Champion, distinguished violinist and professor at the National Conservatory of Mexico since 1994.
