Remarks:

Julien-Francois Zbinden is essentially a self-taught composer, although he refined his skills under Rene Gerber. Music for flute and harp is generally light and airy, but these works have a hushed, dark tone that is particularly entrancing. These highly original works could be compared to the work of the master harp composer Carlos Salzedo, and are well worth exploring.
