Notes & Reviews:

Giovanni Sgambati (1841-1914) was another Italian composer who stuck to instrumental music. He was an admired pianist - a contemporary described him, "as well as impeccable technique, clear and confident even in the most complex and difficult of passages, he possessed a truly unique touch of exquisite sweetness, sovereign artistry in the use of the pedals and rare good taste in interpretation.
