Album Summary
Ensemble ComposersNotes & Reviews:
"Musique pour faire plaisir" was the credo of the French piano virtuoso and composer Jean Francaix, who is presented here, like his compatriot Henri Dutilleux, as a descendant of the great Gabriel Fauré. Fauré is a master of finely tuned music. His typical French style is considered to be as the epitome of cultured sensibility. The Piano Quintet No. 2 is a good example of the power of his poetic sophistication and chamber music compositions. It plays the internationally renowned Danish chamber music ensemble Esbjerg Ensemble.
