Album Remarks & Appraisals:
For over 60 years audiences have been charmed by the adventures of a tuba name Tubby. All day long, Tubby plays oompah, oompah with his orchestra, but what he really wants to do is "dance with a pretty little tune." A resourceful bullfrog and a jazz band show Tubby that everyone has the right to play his own melody. When the recording of Tubby the Tuba was first released it was met with instant success. Now these classics characters are brought back to life with author/creator Paul Tripp's original full orchestration and a new narration by Meredith Vieira. This is a musical treat for a whole new generation to enjoy the world's most famous tuba.

Afraid that the lowest of the brass wasn't getting enough attention, Meredith Vieira adds her voice to the tale of Tubby the Tuba: Play It Happy, narrating his adventures and trials. There are two stories, "Tubby the Tuba," in which a classical orchestra performs, and "Tubby the Tuba Meets a Jazz Band," which explores the many uses of the instrument, as well as a bonus track narrated by Paul Tripp, "The Story of Celeste." Everything is done in a fun, yet educational manner, making it a nice, motivational album for young children. ~ Marisa Brown
