Notes & Reviews:

Benedetto Marcello was born into a prominent family of Venetian merchants and politicians. Although Benedetto was destined to become a lawyer (due to his father's objections to his musical aspirations), he had great natural gifts for music, and studied under Antonio Lotti and Francesco Gasparini. This CD set is a compilation of two earlier releases, performed on authentic instruments, which have earned exceptional reviews.
