Notes & Reviews:

When Helge Rosvaenge celebrated his 40th anniversary on the stage of the Deutsche State Opera in Berlin, at the age of 65, he demonstrated clearly yet again how much his personality and natural vocal strength and his passion for the theatre had far outranked any physical weakness to help him achieve such success. At his prime, in his thirties and forties, Rosvaenge drew on a tremendous vocal power unlike any other heldentenor in the Italian style at German opera houses. This power was something people would hardly have expected from such a slightly-built and sensitive man.
