Notes & Reviews:

This delightful repertoire has been played over the years by string quartets, chamber orchestras that match the kind that Strauss himself conducted, and full symphony orchestras. Now we can hear this diverting music by one of Austria's premier brass ensembles, Art of Brass Vienna. Faithful to the Viennese timbre in its use of rotary valve trumpets and the Viennese horn, Art of Brass moves freely from serious to light music, without exposing itself to the charge of merely presenting ephemeral "crossover" music. The works of Johann Strauss Junior and others are presented here in unassuming chamber music arrangements steeped in local tradition.
