Notes & Reviews:

This is the first volume in what will become the definitive Mendelssohn cycle of the new century. Maestro Fey, a long-time advocate of Mendelssohn's orchestral music, has assembled several rare alternate versions of his string symphonies, which he himself later orchestrated. Born in 1960, Fey was a student of Nikolaus harnoncourt from 1988 to 1991 at the Salzburg Mozarteum, and also studied under Leonard Bernstein.
