This set features the inimitable Maria Callas, arguably the most famous soprano of them all, Adelina Patti, Elizabeth Schwarzkopf and Victoria de los Angeles. It also features the great Contralto 's Kathleen Ferrier, Britain 's beloved who died tragically young, and Clara Butt, the statuesque beauty whose voice, according to Sir Thomas Beecham, could be heard across the English Channel.
